RESPONSIBILITIES

ART DIRECTION, VISUAL DESIGN, ILLUSTRATION

Amara is a cute little café in Old Town Pasadena that has been slinging delicious Venezuelan fare since 2011. As they were updating the interior of their shop, it only made sense that their packaging and menu followed suit!

To help bridge the old and new identities, a small branding guide was put together, leveraging the old logomark and incorporating new brand colours and typefaces. Then, the extensive menu was re-worked to be printable as-needed on a laser printer. Finally, the hot chocolate packaging was reworked from top to bottom to allow for one universal look that accommodate two weight sizes, while also easily tagged for future other flavours using a colour-coded sticker on the closure.
